A week in Provence is a sensation for the senses. The "savoir vivre" the french are famous for, here you can find it. A stroll through the daily markets in a tiny hill top village is a feast for the palate.
Cheese, bread, wine, meat and sausage, herbs and spices, here you find everything you need to have a feast.
The sunlight is blazing and the air is filled with the scent of lavender. The cloudless sky during the day turns into an unbelievable nightsky, revealing billions of stars.
These stimulations of all the senses have always inspired artists. Two of the most famous are Vincent van Gogh and Paul Cezanne. In their pictures you can see all the beauty of the Provence.
Lavender was in full bloom during our stay and we spent hours just cruising around the Valensole plateau and marvel at the beauty of the purple and blue lavender fields stretching out to the horizon.
Our base for the week was La Maison des Roches in Gordes. We had the most pleasant stay and enjoyed every minute there.
Merci beaucoup Madame Laure et a bientot
