After a two year break, we returned to Mount Kilimanjaro.
This time we took the Lemosho route, starting on the far western side of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The route took us through lush rainforest up to the Shira plateau . It took us a complete day to cross this vast plateau and join the main trekking routes at Shira Camp. From there we proceded further up to Barranco and Karanga camp.
Having more problems on elevations above 4500 meter than during our last visit, we decided not to attempt the summit this time.
Still we had a great time and enjoyed our seven days at Mount Kilimanjaro very much. This is not only because we had great weather and a fantastic scenery, but also because our crew did everything they could to make our trip a memorable experience.
We knew Vicent and his crew from our last trip and we were more than happy that we were able to do this trek together with this great crew once again.
Asante sana Vicent and the crew.
